EXEMPTION STATUS FOR A CHILD OF A FIJI CITIZEN APPLICATION

Exemption Status for a Child application is granted to an unmarried child of a Fiji citizen under the age of 18 years and holder of a foreign passport to enter, reside and study in the country. This section gives you an overview on how to apply for an Exemption Status for a child of a Fiji citizen.

APPLY FOR EXEMPTION STATUS FOR A CHILD OF A FIJI CITIZEN

New application for:

  • New/Extension

Eligibility

  1. Child must be under 18 years of age before date of lodgment;
  2. Application must be made by either Fiji citizen parent of the applicant;
  • All documents must be submitted as per Exemption Status for a Child of a Fiji Citizen Documentary Requirements (refer Checklist) click here;

Criteria

  1. The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification, as and when required;
  2. Where a question in a particular section does not apply to you please put N/A;
  • Providing false information in this application can lead to imprisonment or a fine or both;
  1. If Spouse of a Fiji citizen is applying for Exemption status the same application form can be used by the child(ren) when applying under this category.

 

You must:-

  1. complete prescribed Exemption Status for a Child of a Fiji Citizen application New/Extension form (Form No.: FID-001E) ) click here;
  2. submit photographs less than 6 months old, good quality colour, full-face view of your head and shoulders and taken against a plain or light coloured background;
  3. submit certified copies of birth certificate
  4. translated certified copies of all non-English documents in English (registered translator).

A support letter from the guardian and copy of his/her photo ID (if child is not residing with parents in Fiji)

Medical Report (within 3 months from date of issue)

Certified copy of child/children’s passport biodata page

6

Two (2) recent passport size photographs

7

Certified copy of child/children’s birth certificate

8

Copy of either parent’s Fiji passport

9

Copy of previous Immigration Exemption Status stamp (from passport & for extension only)

10

Copy of Vaccination Card

The Immigration Department will consider applications for the extension of Exemption status on merit.

Eligibility

Existing investor permit holders.

  1. All documets must be submitted as per Exemption Status for a Child of a Fiji Citizen application New/Extension form (Form No.: FID-001E) ) click here;

Criteria

  1. The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification, as and when required;

  • Providing false information in this application can lead to imprisonment or a fine or both;

 

You must:-

  • lodged one (1) month prior to the expiry date of the permit
  • The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification as and when required;
  • Where a question in a particular section does not apply to you please put N/A;
  • Providing false information in this application can lead to imprisonment or a fine or both; and
  • The principal applicants spouse and dependent children to be included in the same form;

A support letter from the guardian and copy of his/her photo ID (if child is not residing with parents in Fiji)

Any Fiji citizen parents of children born overseas will need to apply for an Exemption status of their child/children’s on the prescribed form to the Director of Immigration.
