RESIDENCE SPECIAL PURPOSE PERMIT ON MEDICAL GROUNDS APPLICATION

A Special Purpose Permit on Medical Grounds is granted to a non-citizen on medical grounds under the recommendation of a certified medical practitioner to reside in Fiji and undergo medical treatment in a local medical hospital.

New application for:

  • Non-citizen
  • New/Extension

Eligibility

  1. Recommendation letter from a registered medical practitioners;
  2. All documents must be submitted as per Residence Special Purpose Permit on Medical Grounds Documentary Requirements (refer Checklist) click here;

Criteria

  1. The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification, as and when required;
  2. Where a question in a particular section does not apply to you please put N/A;
  3. Providing false information in this application can lead to imprisonment or a fine or both;
  4. If more than one applicant, each applicant is required to complete application form each;
  5. Applicant will be required to pay application fee at the time of lodgment;
  6. Applicant will be required to pay for applicable Issue fees once permit is approved.

You must:-

  • complete prescribed Residence Permit application New/Extension form click here;
  • submit photographs less than 6 months old, good quality colour, full-face view of your head and shoulders and taken against a plain or light coloured background;
  • submit Medical transfer letter from Ministry of Health/registered medical practitioners;
  • submit Valid confirmed return air/boat ticket.

Application Fee

The Immigration Department will consider applications for the extension of permits on merit.

Eligibility

Existing Residence Special Purpose Permit on Medical Grounds holders.

  1. All documents must be submitted as per Residence Special Purpose Permit on Medical Grounds Documentary Requirements click here;

Criteria

  1. The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification, as and when required;
  2. Where a question in a particular section does not apply to you please put N/A; and
  3. Providing false information in this application can lead to imprisonment or a fine or both;

You must:-

  • lodged one (1) month prior to the expiry date of the permit;
  • complete prescribed Residence Permit application New/Extension form click here;
  • submit photographs less than 6 months old, good quality colour, full-face view of your head and shoulders and taken against a plain or light coloured background;
  • submit Local medical report Ministry of Health registered medical practitioners;
  • submit Valid confirmed return air/boat ticket.
  • The Department reserves all rights to acquire additional documents for further verification as and when required;

Application Fee

Any non-citizen wishing to reside in Fiji on Residence Special Purpose Permit on Medical Grounds will need to apply for a permit on the prescribed form to the Director of Immigration.

Your fees may include the application, issue Forms, Publications & Fees (immigration.gov.fj)and bond fees

Dependents of the principal applicants (permit holders under this category) may apply for co-extensive permits to reside with the principal applicant.

Actual processing times may vary due to individual circumstances including:

  • whether the applicant has lodged a complete application which includes all required documents;
  • response to any requests for additional information
  • time taken to perform required checks; and
  • receiving additional information from external parties.
