The Student Visa for Vanuatu is a temporary visa designed for individuals seeking to pursue educational opportunities in Vanuatu. The Student Visa application process entails specific requirements, including the payment of the visa application charge. Criteria

To be eligible for a Student Visa in Vanuatu, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Study Duration: Applicants must intend to study in Vanuatu for a period of up to one year. For longer courses of study, students must apply for a new Student Visa each year.

  2. Family Members: The Student Visa permits the inclusion of eligible family members, such as spouses and dependent children, in the application.

  3. Visa Application Charge: The visa application charge must be paid in Vatu unless the applicant qualifies for an exemption. Exemptions are available for students on government scholarships from specific countries.

  4. Visa Conditions: Students must adhere to specific visa conditions during their stay in Vanuatu, including:

    • Compliance with Vanuatu’s laws and regulations.
    • Maintenance of good conduct and behavior.
    • Prohibition from engaging in unauthorized employment or commercial activities.
    • Prompt reporting of significant personal or financial changes.
    • Continuation of studies for the duration of the visa.

Fees

The visa application charge for a Student Visa in Vanuatu is determined based on the age of the applicant:

  • If the applicant is aged under 18 years, the visa application fee is 2,880 Vatu.

  • If the applicant is aged 18 years and over, the visa application fee is 14,400 Vatu.

Please note that these fees are applicable per visa applicant and must accompany the visa application. It’s essential to ensure that the correct fee is paid to avoid processing delays.

Validity

The Student Visa in Vanuatu is typically granted for a maximum period of one year. If a student’s course of study extends beyond one year, they are required to apply for a new Student Visa each year to continue their education in Vanuatu.

How To Apply

Applying for a Student Visa in Vanuatu involves the following steps:

  1. Complete the Application Form: Applicants must complete the Student Visa Application Form, ensuring that it is signed by the applicant or, if the applicant is under 18 years old, by their parents or guardians. Additionally, applicants should respond to the health and character questions on the application form.

  2. Pay the Visa Application Charge: The visa application charge varies depending on the applicant’s age:

    • Applicants under 18 years: 2,880 Vatu
    • Applicants aged 18 years and over: 14,400 Vatu
  3. Provide Passport Documentation: Applicants should submit either a valid passport or a certified copy of the bio-data page and all used pages of a valid passport if they are outside Vanuatu.

  4. Submit Passport Photos: Include two recent passport-sized photographs of each visa applicant, with the applicant’s name on the back of each photograph.

  5. Enrollment Evidence: Present evidence of enrollment in the chosen course of study unless the applicant is under 18 years old and residing with their family in Vanuatu.

  6. Security Deposit: Deposit a security amount equivalent to the cost of an air ticket from Vanuatu to the applicant’s country of nationality or another country where they are permitted to reside, including airport taxes. This security deposit is required for each visa applicant.

  7. Proof of Financial Support: Demonstrate evidence of funds or income to support all visa applicants for the duration of the visa, with a minimum of 40,000 Vatu per visa applicant per month.

  8. Medical Examination Results: If the applicant is 18 years or older, provide the results of a medical examination.

  9. Accommodation Arrangements: If the applicant is under 18 years old and will not be residing with a parent or legal guardian in Vanuatu, they must stay with a Vanuatu citizen or a visa/permit holder who is at least 18 years old, of good character, and has provided an undertaking to provide accommodation, food, and general welfare during the applicant’s stay.

  10. Parental Consent: If the applicant is under 18 years old and will not be residing with a parent or legal guardian in Vanuatu, obtain consent from both parents (if living) or legal guardians to grant the student a Student Visa.
