Criteria

To be eligible for a visitor visa in Vanuatu, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be outside Vanuatu at the time of application.
  • Complete and sign the Visitor Application form, ensuring that all health and character questions are answered on the application form.
  • Pay the required visa application charge, which is 7,420 VUV.
  • Provide a certified copy of the bio-data page of a valid passport and all used pages of the passport (if in a proclaimed area, a valid passport is required).
  • Show evidence of a return ticket or proof of other arranged transport from Vanuatu within 30 days of arrival.
  • Demonstrate funds or income to support the applicant for the duration of the stay (at least 40,000 vatu per month) or provide evidence of support from family/friends in Vanuatu.
  • Present evidence of a genuine intention to depart Vanuatu within 30 days. This can include a letter from the employer confirming leave, a letter of invitation if visiting family or friends, or other relevant information. Supporting documents not in English, French, or Bislama must be translated into one of these languages.
  • If the applicant is under 18 years of age, both parents or legal guardians must provide consent to the grant of the visa.
  • If the applicant is under 18 years of age, not part of an organized tour, and won’t be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian in Vanuatu, an undertaking from a Vanuatu citizen or a visa holder in Vanuatu must be provided to ensure accommodation, food, and general welfare during the stay.
Change Of Status

Visitor visa holders must abide by specific conditions, including complying with all laws of Vanuatu, behaving in a manner that does not prejudice peace, good order, good government, or public morality in Vanuatu, refraining from paid employment or commercial business activities in Vanuatu, and promptly informing Vanuatu Immigration of any significant changes in personal or financial circumstances.

The visa application charge for a visitor visa in Vanuatu is 7,420 VUV. Ensure that this fee is paid when applying for the visa. Incomplete or partially complete applications will not be accepted.

Validity

A visitor visa for Vanuatu is valid for a maximum period of 30 days.

Description:
The Close Family Visa is a special type of visa given to individuals who are in
Vanuatu or outside Vanuatu and are applying for a visa to visit Vanuatu. The
applicant must be a spouse of dependent child of a Vanuatu citizen or a noncitizen who is residing in Vanuatu with a visa which allows for secondary
applicants
Criteria:
To be eligible for a Close Family Visa in Vanuatu, applicants must meet the
following criteria:
• The applicant may be in Vanuatu or outside Vanuatu at the time of his
or her application
• The applicant must be sponsored by:
▪ A Vanuatu citizen or
▪ A non-citizen who is residing in Vanuatu as the holder of a visa
which provides for secondary applicants
• The applicant must be the spouse or dependent child of the sponsor
• The Director must be satisfied that the sponsorship is acceptable
• If the applicant is sponsored by his or her spouse, the director must be
satisfied that the relationship is genuine, continuing and exclusive
Change of status:
Close Family Visa of Vanuatu allows for multiple entry, is allowed to extend his
or her visa subject to prescribed conditions and also provides for secondary
applicant. The holders of this visa must not engage in any employment,
commercial or business activities and is not allowed to change his or her visa
status.
Fees:
When applying for Close Family visa in Vanuatu, applicants should be aware
of the following visa application fees:
• Adults: 61,800 Vatu
• Under 18 years of age: 5,150 Vatu
Validity:
Close Family Visa of Vanuatu is valid for a maximum period of 12 months.

Description:
The Ni Vanuatu Decent Visa is a special type of visa given to individuals who
are outside Vanuatu and are applying for a visa to visit families and relatives in
Vanuatu. The applicant must be formerly a citizen of Vanuatu and or is of
Vanuatu descent.
Criteria:
To be eligible for a Ni Vanuatu Descent Visa in Vanuatu, applicants must meet
the following criteria:
• The applicant must be outside of Vanuatu at the time of his or her
application
• The applicant is a descendent of a Vanuatu citizen
• The applicant is a former Vanuatu citizen
Change of status:
Ni Vanuatu Descent Visa of Vanuatu allows for multiple entry, is allowed to
extend his or her visa subject to prescribed conditions and also provides for
secondary applicant. The holders of this visa must not engage in any
employment, commercial or business activities and are not allowed to change
his or her visa status.
Fees:
The visa application charge for Ni Vanuatu Descent Visa in Vanuatu is 20,600
Vatu. Ensure that the fees are paid when applying for the visa. Incomplete or
partially complete application will not be accepted.
Validity:
Ni Vanuatu Descent Visa for Vanuatu is valid for a maximum period of 12
months.
